Jayalath Manorathna
Kala Suri Kala Keerthi Keselgaspe Manatunga Jayalath Manorathne (Sinhala-Keselgaspe Jayalath Manorathne, 12 June 1948 - 12 January 2020) became known as Jayalath Manorathne π
He is an award winning actor in Sri Lankan cinema, stage drama and television. He was a lecturer by profession as well as a director and producer. An accomplished actor in everything from drama to comedy, Manoratne has won awards at OCIC, President, University, Raigam Tele's, Sumathi and State Literary and Drama Festivals. He went on to become Best Actor in 1991 and 1992 for his performances in Socrates and Dwight. He went on to become Best Actor in 1991 and 1992 for his performances in Socrates and Dwight. In 1979, Manoratne started his film career with a minor role in the film Thilake and Thilaka. ππ
Cinematography
He then made his professional debut in 1979 with the film Handaya, directed by Titus Thotawatte. Since then, he has acted in more than 30 films in many genres, including drama, romance and comedy. He was a recipient of the Kala Suri and Kala Keerthi for his contribution to the drama industry. He has won Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor in many of his notable films, including Manoratne, Suriya Arana, or Ghana Pond, Berunda Bird and Walapatala π
